4. Despair
We become overwhelmed with anguish, pain, and hurt of our loss as we are thrown into the depths of our emotional response. We lose hope, faith and trust in the idea that we can return to the calm and order our life once had.

Grief can occur as a result to a number of different events with one things in common--loss. At some point in our lives, each of us faces the loss of someone or something dear to us. The loss of anything that matters to us will trigger the grieving process; a model for change to help us understand and deal with our personal reaction to trauma.
